HEIRLOOMS for a New Century
Century Furniture unveils an ensemble of
extraordinary "showpieces"
...and invites design professionals to make them their own.

High Point Furniture Market (April 2005)--Century
Furniture has always
been known for its extraordinary creations. But this Market, it will take its
craft to new heights. The North Carolina company will introduce Heirloom
by Century, a group of customizable fine furniture forms marketed
directly to
design professionals and the most elite retailers.
This is not a "themed" collection, but an ensemble of
signature pieces.
Materials are lush and exotic: fiery French Walnut and burl veneers, English
Yew, onyx marble. Choices abound. More than 20 wood and paint finishes
are available, from Carmel to Green Pepper to Bisque. Striping
options
include Gold Leaf and Chocolate Glaze. Designers may specify a
tabletop in,
for instance, onyx or seeded glass. A chest may be configured as an armoire
or a spirit cabinet. Refined touches, like working locks and lavish veneering
on "hidden" tray drawers, appear throughout.
"This furniture is meant to be passed down through
generations," says
Edward M. Tashjian, Century's Vice President of Marketing. "Every piece is
special. Designs, materials, finishes...it's all crème de la crème.
Heirloom
represents a new market for us. Essentially, we give designers a magnificent
form; they make it their own."
